It’s that time of year again – kids are back in school and their fall activities, and it probably feels like everyone is taking turns getting sick at home!

At Associate Pediatrics, we encourage any patient who is able to get their flu shot, and to also get their COVID vaccine boosters. (Immunization is free for all Albertans who are at least 6 months of age!) You can check with your local pharmacy for when to book your flu shot for patients over 5 years of age, or you can check out Alberta Health Services for more up to date information on influenza and vaccination clinics. There is more information available from the Canadian Paediatric Society.

Remember that hand washing is important, as it helps prevent the spread of influenza, and to cover your cough when able!

If attending our office this fall/winter, we CAN see you if you have: cough, fever, sore throat, or runny nose – please let us know prior to coming into the office if you have symptoms or if you’re unsure what to do.
