Referrals to the Clinic
About our Physicians
Our physicians are certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and are consultants for children aged 0-18 years of age, providing management and diagnosis for medical, behavioural and developmental concerns. All patients must be referred from a physician or nurse practitioner with an active Prac ID. Our clinic is not able to follow children for general care, and we strongly recommend each family has a Family Physician for their primary care needs.
For URGENT Cases
For URGENT cases, please call and ask to speak with one of the Pediatricians, or indicate this in BOLD on the referral. We will do our best to fit in as soon as possible.
Referral Requirements
Referrals must include:
• Name, Alberta Health Care Number, DOB
• Up to Date Demographics
• Any relevant information
• Growth Chart with clear number values
• Referring doctor and clinic info, with valid Prac ID
A letter stating we have received your referral will be sent to you within 1-2 days. Families are contacted directly when we can book an appointment and are notified via mailout letter if they are on a waiting list to be seen.
Referral to a Specific Physician
All referrals sent to our clinic go into a central pool and will be booked with the next available physician. If you have been previously seen or have a sibling that is being referred, we will match you with the same physician. Some of our doctors have subspecialities that we do our best to match you with.
Re-referrals
If you have been previously seen in the office but it has been over 1 year since your last in-person appointment, you will be required to have a re-referral and go through the waiting process to be seen.
